Biography

Auckland-based Bev Goodwin gained her Diploma in Fine Arts in Italy and furthered her studies in Design at Unitec, Auckland. Her practice was initially concerned with working in watercolours, inks, paints and collage.

Now firmly established as  a multi-media and installation artist, as a result of a concern for environmental issues and the effects of mass consumerism, she focuses on working with wire, hosing, and other  low tech and recycled materials.

“While using unusual and recycled materials that mimic nature, I am asking the question: how fine is the line between the natural and the artificial? I hope to extend the imagination and possibilities in new found solutions.”

She has exhibited work in New Zealand, Australia and Europe and her work is held in national and international collections.
